Eartheater, Alice Glass, Bodega, Helena Hauff and many others also join the 2024 bill
A month ago, south London day festival Wide Awake announced that King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard will be their 2024 headliner, at their usual home of Brockwell Park, on 25 May.
Now, the Aussie psych overlords have been joined by a host of new additions to next year’s event, including Edinburgh genre-blenders Young Fathers, former L&Q cover stars Squid, experimental pop duo Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul, electropunk icon Alice Glass, techno powerhouse Helena Hauff, one of UK electronic music’s most influential DJs Ben UFO, and loads more.
It’s a more electronic and experimental lineup than ever, but there are still plenty of cutting-edge rock and alternative bands on the bill too, including Bodega, Crumb and The Babe Rainbow. There’s also going to be a stage hosted for the first time by iconic Seattle radio station and live session channel KEXP, arguably the holy grail for underground musicians looking to build an international audience.
