Internationally-renowned writer-director Martin McDonagh, expertly-curated streaming platform MUBI, Cornish auteur Mark Jenkin and festival founder Simon Taffe are all heading to End Of The Road this year to programme the lineup on the Cinema Stage. Between incredible music – this year’s lineup includes the likes of Angel Olsen, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Future Islands and many more – festival-goers can catch the likes of The King of Comedy, The Parallax View, Jubilee, Aftersun and many others. The last few tickets for this year’s festival are available here.
Martin McDonagh is a Golden Globe-winning and Academy Award-nominated filmmaker and playwright known for films like In Bruges (2008), Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017) and The Banshees of Inisherin (2022). Mark Jenkin is a Cornish filmmaker and artist who broke through to wide critical acclaim with 2019’s Bait, which was followed last year by the experimental Enys Men, which will be screened inside the EOTR Big Top with a live score at this year’s festival. Here’s our review of Gwenno’s excellent live soundtrack of Bait in 2021. MUBI is a cinema streaming specialist, renowned for its careful curation and platforming of independent and under-represented work to an international audience, and Simon Taffe is the founder of End Of The Road.
And finally… a competition! End Of The Road have teamed up with MUBI to give away a free yearly subscription. All you have to do is buy a ticket between today (28 June) and 11 July, and enter your email address here. Good luck, and either way, we’ll see you at Larmer Tree Gardens in September.
