Because Christmas is about the giving
So, you’ve had a chance to see what we’ve been enjoying in 2017. The full run down of our top 40 best albums of the year is here.
The top five were as follows:
1. Protomartyr – Relatives In Descent
2. Kelly Lee Owens – Kelly Lee Owens
3. Richard Dawson – Peasant
4. Timber Timbre – Sincerely, Future Pollution
5. Vince Staples – Big Fish Theory
If you’re interested in digging deeper into the stories behind some of those releases you can revisit our cover feature interview with Protomartyr in Detroit from October, the background on Kelly Lee Owens’ journey from cancer ward nurse to ambient techno producer and, well, this is just a good ol’ fashioned nose around in Richard Dawson’s house in Newcastle.
Enough of that, though, you want to win some vinyl. Here’s what you need to do.
Create a new email to info@loudandquiet.com, put ALBUMS 2017 in the subject line and send us your name, where you’re from, and if you give us permission to put you on our newsletter list (a simple YES or NO – we won’t spam you, it’s just the odd update when we put out a new magazine etc). Also, include the answer to the following question.
Protomartyr are from Detroit – but which rapper grew up there and famously made a film based in the city?
a) Pitball
b) Flo Rida
c) Eminem
The competition closes on Monday 18 December at midnight, and we’ll contact the winner soon after. Good luck to all!
