Episode by Tim Cochrane.
What happens when you give an Australian sleaze-pop megastar and his saxophone playing business partner a modest amount of cash
If you ask Angel Olsen, Thee Oh Sees or Kevin Morby who their favourite new artist has been in 2016, I think they’d all probably say Alex Cameron.
He’s the Australian sleaze-pop icon who, when performing, snacks around on stage like a cross between Bruce Springsteen and Elvis. A short while ago, in the middle of his extensive world tour, he stopped off in London.
When playing live he performs with his “business partner” Roy Molloy, a saxophone-playing former tram conductor from Sydney. We took the pair to Flashback Records, Shoreditch, gave them £25 spend on a minimum of three pieces of vinyl for the latest episode of Bands Buy Records.
They were excellent value.
