Opening party! Live recorded podcast! Big Top takeover! Would you like to come?
Not long now until End of the Road 2018. It all begins on Thursday 30 August at Larmer Tree Gardens, Dorset.
We’re excited to be working with the festival again this year. Genuinely. We’re going to be there doing things. And it’s time to reveal those things. Here’s a run-down of where you’ll find us over the weekend.
THURSDAY 30st AUGUST:
11pm at the Tipi Stage: Time-hop Silent Disco Opening Party
What this festival needs to get going is a Silent Disco where channel 1 exclusively plays music released in 1998 and channel 2 only plays music from January 2018 onwards. There is no reason for this concept, but we’re doing it.
FRIDAY 31st AUGUST:
Loud And Quiet presents The Big Top stage
Yeah, just check out that line-up.
Protomartyr
The Orielles
Lost Horizons
Tirzah
Amyl and the Sniffers
Nilüfer Yanya
Creatures
Penelope Isles
SATURDAY 1st SEPTEMBER:
12pm at the Piano Stage: Live recording of our Midnight Chats podcast, with Josh T. Pearson
We transport our Midnight Chats interview podcast series into daylight hours for a one-off episode recorded live on stage. Fresh from his solo appearance at the festival, come check out the Texan supremo and Lift To Experience frontman in conversation. Bless y’all.
COMPETITION TIME
Now, we know what you’re thinking. How the hell can I get in on this? You can buy a ticket (they’re running low). But, you can also enter this competition. We keep it straightforward. Answer this simple question and you’ll be put into a draw to win a pair of weekend tickets.
Precisely how to enter:
Create a new email to info@loudandquiet.com, put EOTR COMPETITION 2018 in the subject line and send us your name, where you’re from and whether you give us permission to put you on our newsletter list (a simple YES or NO. No hard feelings either way, although we don’t spam you – it only gets sent once in a while and tells you about our new magazines, podcasts etc). Also, include the answer to the following question.
Which of these is a song by End of the Road headliner Vampire Weekend?
– Oxford Comma
– Kensington Full Stop
– Winchester Quote Marks
The competition runs until midnight on Monday 6 August, and with any luck you’ll be joining us, watching St. Vincent, Fat White Family, Feist, Yo La Tengo and loads of others.
