Shame want to top the pop charts with their new track – also announced ‘Songs of Praise’, their debut album

We like Shame – that’s why they’re on the front cover of our magazine this month (or read here).

Today they’ve announced that their debut album is done; has a title, a release date and a front cover which shows the band cradling some pigs. ‘Songs of Praise’ will be coming out via Dead Oceans on 12 January.

As a companion to that news they’ve just shared a new track, ‘One Rizla’. The video for which is more ‘Countryfile’ than ‘Song of Praise’.

Of the song, frontman Charlie Steen comments:

“It was the first song we wrote. I think that’s reflected in the simplicity of it. It’s honest and raw, whilst attempting a stab at number one in the pop charts across the eastern hemisphere.”
