Philly band return with more "fuck that shit type songs" on album number five
Philly punk band Pissed Jeans have just announced their fifth album, ‘Why Love Now’, which will be released 24 February 2017 via Sub Pop.
It follows 2013’s ‘Honeys’, which was so good we put the band on the cover of our May edition. The band we’re pretty fed up with things back then, so you can only imagine how they’re feeling now.
This track, ‘The Bar Is Low’, “is about how every guy seems to be revealing themselves as a shithead,” says singer Matt Korvette, who promises other numbers on ‘Why Love Now’ (a hopeful title) will be “fuck that shit type songs”, not unlike ‘Male Gaze’ from ‘Honeys’.
For their latest press shot, the band have chosen to pose in front of the Kurt Vile ‘Wakin on a Pretty Daze’ mural from the local singer’s 2013 album. They waited for an old guy in a car to drive past to take the perfect shot. God bless Pissed Jeans.
