Art is Hard is a great indie label. Visit their site and there’s an invitation for bands to send them demos, with a note which says “even if you have a really bad name we’ll probably give you a listen”.
Located in Bristol and London, they’re on a bit of a run, too, last week announcing the quietly beautiful debut single from London five-piece Totally.
Tomorrow, they’ll put out an EP of a band at the very opposite end of the spectrum. Fehm are a trio based in Leeds, influenced they say by the likes of The Birthday Party and Honey Bane.
The band explain it like this: “It tells a story from start to finish, it’s about seeing the changes that occur in people around you and how we separate over time. More importantly, the EP reflects the monotony of everyday life and peoples’ struggle to achieve what they really want.”
You can listen to their debut EP ‘Circadian Life’ below. The title track in particular is a standout for us.
If you’re in Yorkshire tomorrow (November 25) and in need of a good ear-bashing, the band are launching the EP at Brudenell Social Club. Get yourself down there, Sievehead and The Bodies are playing, too.
